E. Procedures / Timing:
- Begin with a short activity called “feel in the boxes”. Have small boxes prepared with something to do with Halloween inside. The items with in the box can be something like a stuffed animal of a spider, spider webs, cold spaghetti noodles and other things. Have students then try to explain what they felt inside each box (10mins).
- Share a short story about the Halloween Holiday and have students listen and fill in a gap fill exercise sheet while listening. This will introduce students to what the holiday is all about and what key grammar words that can be used for later. 10min (listening) http://www.eslholidaylessons.com/10/halloween.html
- Ask students what they would like to dress up as for Halloween and why. Have them share these ideas with other students in the class (Speaking). 5 - 10mins.
- Exercise where students match pictures to words. If this is too easy then write definitions instead of just words. 10mins
